The tour starts off in a space housing the 19th-century salt collection, which exhibits objects made exclusively from rock salt mined in Cardona. The route then becomes chronological, taking visitors from prehistoric times to the contemporary period with exhibits of several multidisciplinary collections of historical and artistic value from the districts forming the Roman Catholic Diocese of Solsona.
