Museum of Solsona

  • Stone sculpture
  •  49.5 x 40 x 30 cm
  •  First quarter of the 13th century
  • Origin: crypt of Sant Pere de Madrona, Pinell (El Solsonès)

MDCS 157

This capital was located in the crypt of the church of Sant Pere de Madrona and brought to the museum in around 1914.

The figure wears a tunic and a crown, and grasps a stem in outstretched arms.

The inscription on the abacus, MIRUS ME FECIT, appears to refer not to the figure but to the sponsor of the work.
