The complex forms of the Gothic Tower inspired this artist to revel in an elaborate and slender creation. The fragility of the salt has not posed an obstacle to the creation of its delicate ornamental openwork.
Fr. Riba writes in his work Museo de sal gema, published in 1861, that although the niches are empty, there were plans to place allegorical figures in them to represent the four seasons.
