The Museum’s prehistory and protohistory collections were obtained from excavations carried out at the turn of the twentieth century by the Director of the time, Father Joan Serra i Vilaró.
The prehistoric objects are mainly grave goods from burial sites dating from the Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods and from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age.
The protohistoric materials were unearthed during excavations carried out at the Iberian and Ibero-Roman villages of Anseresa and Castellvell (Olius, El Solsonès) and Sant Miquel de Sorba (Montmajor, El Berguedà).
